Manuel Levins Holden born September 22, better known by his stage name Manny Phesto , is an Underground hip hop musician based in Minneapolis , Minnesota. Manny is also an entrepreneur and business owner in the cannabis and CBD space. In September , Manny Phesto co-founded and curated a day long hip hop festival in the Cedar Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis  at which he released his Social Capital EP collaboration with Julian Fairbanks. Manny's upbringing in a working-class family of artists and activists including Ricardo Levins Morales, Richard Levins , Rosario Morales , and Aurora Levins Morales has influenced recurring themes in his music. During the midterm election he launched his "Manny Phesto for Minnesota" campaign in which he was "running" as a write-in candidate for any ballot position where his fans felt he was needed. The band of rappers known as Souls of Mischief is one of the hip hop architects of the West Coast. After accomplishing that artistically monstrous feat, Souls of Mischief and their crew, Hieroglyphics, went on to build independently one of the internationally best known brands in hip hop. They put out their own albums, book their own tours and handle all of their own merchandise, and the revenue feeds their clan of a dozen or so men and funds the building they own and operate in the flatlands of East Oakland. Phesto Dee, a quarter of the membership of Souls of Mischief, is arguably the most vicious and complex lyricist in the whole Hiero camp.
